About Me
Hi, I'm Sydney Sickles

As a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant specializing in newborn and infant sleep (0-18 months), I help families bring peace and predictability back to their baby's sleep without extreme or confusing advice.
Before becoming a Pediatric Sleep Consultant, childcare was simply my life. Having spent 12 years as a nanny specializing in infant care, I am no stranger to supporting families through the early stages of childhood.
Those years taught me something invaluable: Babies are constantly changing. A schedule that worked beautifully one week may suddenly fall apart the next.
I now help families make sense of their baby's sleep, restore structure to their days, and move forward with clarity and confidence.
Twelve Years in Real Homes
For more than a decade, I cared for babies through every stage of early development and experienced firsthand how quickly sleep schedules can unravel when milestones hit or nap times drift.
I also know what happens when exhaustion reaches a breaking point.
One family I worked with had reached that point.
Their child’s sleep had deteriorated so much that she would only sleep while in her fathers arms as he slept upright in a chair. He was lucky to get four hours of sleep per night. They weren’t convinced change would work. They were tired. They were hesitant.
I assured them gently but clearly: “We can fix this.”
Within five days, she was sleeping eleven uninterrupted hours in her crib.
Not because we were harsh or because we ignored her, but because we created the right structured plan and stayed consistent.
Spending years working in REAL homes has taught me when to be patient, and when it's time to step in and lead.
Experience First, Education To Match
After having dedicated years to working with infants, I began to recognize many of the patterns that can shape sleep. I experienced how routines break down during big milestones and how a difficult week can turn into a sleepless month for a family.
As my experience progressed I also saw how much small adjustments can matter. A shift in schedule, a more consistent bedtime routine, or even changing how sleep begins can make a significant difference in the quality of an infant's sleep.
My training gave me a deeper understanding of the science behind those observations. It strengthened my belief that sleep challenges rarely exist on their own, but are influenced by the many different factors that affect how well a child rests. This perspective was further shaped by my IPSP certification, which emphasizes a medically informed, evidence-based understanding of infant sleep.
Experience gifted me intuition.
Education gave me the framework to apply it.
How I Approach Sleep
I believe infants thrive with predictable rhythms and consistent follow-through.
Many parents today feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice regarding infant sleep and want to ensure they're doing the right thing for their baby. My job is to guide your family toward a plan that fits your child's stage in development.
Structure doesn’t have to be harsh.
Gentle doesn’t have to be passive.
For younger babies, this means very responsive, hands-on support, where you are present and actively helping them settle. As babies grow and become more aware, some do better with a bit more space — especially if staying in the room becomes frustrating for them. The goal is to respond in a way that actually helps your baby settle.
My job is to take everything into account and guide you toward changes that actually work for your baby.
Why Early Childhood Matters to Me
I care deeply about the early years. Not simply because babies are adorable, but because they are growing and changing at lightning speed every single day.
A child’s nervous system, daily rhythms, and sense of identity are being shaped long before they can form lasting memories. For years, my days were spent on the floor reading books, nurturing language, celebrating milestones, and protecting the peaceful structure that helps little ones thrive.
Even if a child doesn’t remember those early days, the stability they experienced stays with them.
That statement hits me in my heart.
My faith shapes the way I see family life, and the profound responsibility of caring for young children. It influences the steadiness I bring into homes, and the deep respect I have for the "invisible weight" parents carry every day
Sleep consulting is an extension of that work. I now support the entire family system, but my first love has always been babies and giving them the best possible start to their life.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
When we work together, my goal is to help you feel calmer and more confident about your little one's sleep struggles.
Families often describe me as a cheerful, dependable person. Years of working closely with parents during the first few months of their babies life taught me how hard, yet precious that time is. It also taught me that sleep is a non negotiable for the whole family!
During our conversations, I will ask a lot of questions and listen intently. Together we look at what your baby's days and nights look like, and we will start identifying small areas to adjust that can make a real difference.
I am not here to judge or lecture you. I am here to thoughtfully guide you with a plan that feels realistic for your family.
Above all, I care about the wellbeing of the children and families I work with. That care is what has guided my work for years, and it's what I bring into every consultation.
Closing
If this season feels messy or confusing, you don’t have to keep guessing. We’ll make a clear plan and take it one step at a time.
